Question Looking for ECM Computer Code

I just got off the phone with Troyer Products about getting the SCT X3 Power Flash for my 2001 EX 4X4 V10. They said the code was in the driver side door near the hinges, but it's not there. They also suggested looking for the computer itself mounted to the firewall under the hood on the passenger side, under the dash behind the glove box or driver side. I can't find it anywhere.

Here's their directions:

"Ford SuperDuty Trucks, SUV’s & Vans, including F-250, F-350, E-250 & E-350 Vans, & Excursions, etc.:

Open the front door on the Driver’s side of the vehicle, and look in the front part of the doorframe, in the general area of the door hinges, and there you will find a small sticker with the standard 4-digit code, in the normal format of 3 letters followed by 1 number, like XLE8, VDH5, PMT3, etc. Note: Do not use the information from the sticker on the back of the Driver’s door that says “Calibration” on it, that is NOT the code."

Does anyone know where it is and what it looks like?

Your 01 has the PCM on the wall behind the emergency brake pedal. It has a cover over it. You'll have to remove that cover to see the code on it. I'd snap a picture but my 05 has it in a different location.

The code that is on the door is on a paper sticker that usually falls off due to moisture.

Ecm Found

Found it on the side kick panel above parking brake. Thanks Monsta.

Here are some photo's sorry about the size.

Remove the (2) gold color screws with a 7mm socket.

Pull the cover away from the kick panel side and slightly pull the back inside cover away from the ECM to pull it forward to expose the end with the code imprinted on the end.

There is the code on the end.

ABOVE the pedal...not behind the pedal. *slaps forehead* It's been awhile since I had to look for one there. Glad you found it and everything worked out.
