I couldn't find my original post from last week but I just wanted to thank all those that helped me figure out my problem. It was definately the Turbo. Got the truck home Monday evening and got the turbo off last night. Impeller was wobbly and excessive oil on exhaust side.....haven't pulled it apart yet but the bearings and seals are definately shot.....The dealer wanted $1680.00to replace the turbo and Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor (EBPS)......What a ripoff.....they screwed me 4 months ago when I paid $530.00 to replace two other sensors.....ain't happpening again....they can shove it up their a--........They charged me $105.00 for a diagnostic to tell me my turbo was bad and I had a bad EBPS......
Anyway, I have another question:......Now that I've got the turbo off, what other Mods should I make to get better performance......I know that's a loaded question so I'll just say that I want to keep the truck practical....so any mods that will increase mileage and power are good.....I occasionally tow a car-hauler.......My truck is a 2002 F-250 SD Crew Cab, 7.3, 8 inch lift, 17x35 BFG's, 4in exhaust turbo back, AFE intake, Bully Dog flip chip, Pyro & Boost guages.........
I've read about the crankcase vent Mod......is this a good one to do? How about the EBPS eliminator? Any advise is appreciated......
Since your turbo is off, do an EBPV delete to get more exhaust flow. Go with an upgraded compressor housing or a van turbo housing (van turbo has no wastegate) or one of the fancy high dollar aftermarket turbos (ball bearing is best). You want to keep the EBPS, it's needed for proper fueling. The CCV mod is nearly free and a good idea IMO.

Hey Thanks again for the inputs....I was told by a reputable turbo rebuilder (won't mention name) that the EBPS is not necessary.
I found out this afternoon that my old turbo is trashed and can't be rebuilt....I'm looking for a good replacement....ie. upgrade....
Can't wait to get it back together...I miss my truck!!
Thanks again for the suggestions!
Don't confuse the EBPV (exhaust back pressure valve) with the EBPS(exhaust back pressure sensor). You can delete the EPBV but you should keep the EBPS. Exhaust back pressure is one of the parameters the PCM uses to adjust fueling.
Go with a larger exhaust housing on the new turbo. The larger the outlet the lower your EGTs should be.
