Well if all goes to plan i will be removing my injectors tonight and seeing as im not going to be doing it at my garage i was wondering if there were any tools that i am going to need, other than some sockets and other obvious tools. And also any tips to getting injector 8(?) out, the one on the passenger side in the rear.Thank you
Just a good pry bar with a heel on it, heel bar I call em. To pry them out. Are you replacing them? Are you draining the gallies? I don't I just try to be fast with the new injector before the cylinder fills up. If it sounds like a lot of fluid run in there just pull the glow plug crank the engine and pump it out. Do a oil change afterwards. I never do have any trouble with 7 or 8 cyl.

Several months ago someone posted a link to another Forum which had a very good video clip on injector removal and installation. I did not save it. Maybe that someone can repost it.
Well I am going to go and start taking everything off to get to the injectors, I will be back in about 3 hours for dinner and check then. Seeing as im not putting injectors right back in im not to worried about this, but what is the best way (safest) to get all the oil out of the cylinder?
Yeah, that works ok.....but I like this better. [/URL]
It's a 2 qt juice bottle that the nozzle from the shop vac fits tight in the neck and a length of clear 1/4 hose. The bottle keeps all the oil out of the shop vac and you can see the oil travel up the clear hose so you know when the cylinder is empty
Now that is some inovative ***** right there, i like that idea. Well i got all of them out, took me about 4 hours but i had to go home for dinner and i get side tracked very easily. So all in all i thought it was pretty easy, actually it was easier than i expected. Thank you guys for all your advice. Is it ok to leave the valve covers off (its inside) and to just leave the oil in the cylinders, or should that come out asap?
It'll be fine the way it is. If you leave it sit long enough it just might leak past the rings and back into the pan. That makes less you'll have to vacuum back out.

I liked that idea, I tried to rep you but.... How did you glue the brass ?fitting to the bottle?
