One of the Shelby Mustangs has a super-charged 5.4 in it putting out 725 hp. I wouldn't mind seeing something like that dropped in to the truck to keep all the hp junkies happy. and with that option the engine and needed parts are already in existence. But personally I would opt for the car or a bike if I wanted speed and an insurance cost hike.

I'm so tall and big a truck fits me better. Also there are enough of us who would like to have a New Lightning
I guess. I just seen a new 08 I guess a few days ago at Wal Mart and it was a Quad Cab. I see Daytona's and Rumble Bee's all over the place here now and see very few New Fords. Which is unusual.
Those are older Dodges. The RumbleBee and Daytona trucks are from around 05 or 06.
The SRT-10 was only made from 04-06. 505hp with a 6-speed with regular cab, and a detuned V10 with an auto if a QuadCab.
The R/T Dodge is a standard cab short bed with the 390hp Hemi. 5 more hp than the last 385hp Lightning in 04, but less torque.
Maybe if gas prices stabilize at even down around the $2.00 range, Ford may go ahead and turn the 6.2L Boss project back on for a new Lightning or just to keep up with everyone else in the power dept.
The 6.2L Boss with a 6-speed auto behind it would probably make for a pretty fast truck!!
I can honestly say that nobody wants to pay $60,000 for this 2 wheels drive truck.
I can honestly say I wouldnt want to pay $60k for ANY truck. If I did pay that much, then I wouldnt even want the thing on the road, out of fear of a stone chip, ding or something. Heck, I wouldnt even want anyone to SIT in it, lol! It's a truck. Its supposed to through some abuse, mild or otherwise. Why would you sink that much money into something that is ment for hauling/towing/rock climbing?
Then again, Ive always been lost on the people who want to lower a truck, race it, etc, etc...Never understood... just go buy a car
