Lowering 78 Bronco

I know this will sound nuts to many of you guys with lifted rigs but here it goes. 78 Bronco started out with a 4" lift (coils front, blocks rear)and 35's. My days of off roading over (old age and a crabby woman!)and I want to make the truck a tad more streetable. I've already downsized to 33's and want to bring down the truck another inch or so to fill the void in the wheel wells. The question is there any way to modify the current lift kit to drop it? Possibly cut a coil off the front springs? What about the rear blocks? Thanks for any suggestions.

The front is the hardest part to lower. Cutting the coils is not a good idea. New coils would be the way to go, not too expensive either. The rear is easy, replace the blocks with shorter ones. The shocks should still be ok as well.

Perterson's did an artical where they added 3 1/2" lift springs for a early bronco onto a 79. It gave the fullsize bronco about 2" of lift (perfect for 33's) and rode much better to boot. As far as the rear goes, just take the blocks out.
