When you call someone about an ad they placed and you ask them what they are askin' for the item they say "what'll ya give me for it." Pi$$e$ me off! It belongs to them they should know what they want. OK I called this guy today about a 390 Ford shortblock.(his words) I got him to go to his garage and measure the stroke. He says,"I can't cant read this ruler very well but it looks like 3 5/8s. So much for that. So I ask him if he can find any numbers on it. He tells me there's a c6me-a on the side of the block. Anyhow after this guy gives me about 5 "what'll ya give me" lines. I said, "Tell ya what it's worth about $50 to me for parts." The guy says get it outta his garage. It's a complete bottom end, turns over and still has a little glycol in it. Was removed from a HiBoy 2mo. ago and stored inside. I'm goin' after it Wed. eve. Bet it's a 360, but the price is right. By the way, What'll ya give me for it.

So why are you pissed off? You got what you want. Big deal.
So, you're not a bigot. Never said you were, just that that expression is bigotry. So you used a bigoted term. Now you know. So now you're not ignorant, and won't use it again? Or are you stupid and don't understand why this is bigotry? Or are you really just a bigot and are denying it?

Sometimes I'm that guy, not sure of the value.
Sometimes I'm more like this guy: And the hunt is on!!!
You are obviously intellegent. You write far too well to be otherwise. You therefor have to realize that acceptable spoken language within your clique is the place for regional dialogue and vernacular. In a forum you are writing for a worldwide audience with a vast array of backgrounds and history. You should adjust your writing to reflect that if you want the rest of your message to be percieved as coming from a reliable and trustworthy source.
Some will agree with your perceptions. Some will not. You used descriptive term in an insulting context. Whether others understood your use or not is not germaine to the issue. The correct thing to do is simply apologize for the inappropriate terminology and move on. Defending an obvious error in judgement does not improve things.
