I have a F-250 Triton 5.4 L, and was looking for advice to the best performance mods like air intake kit and best exhaust for overall performance and better fuel economy.
Welcome to FTE well I would say the common mods are intake exhaust and a chip or programmer in my opinon a chip or programmer will give you the best performance and fuel mileage the intake and exhaust just help out they dont make a huge difference in performance or mileage
On these new trucks the intakes and exhaust are pretty well designed from the factory. I bought a removeable Power Programmer for my 08. There's a few good ones out there now like SCT, Superchips.
i put a flowmaster exhaust and a diablosport programmer on my 05 and it made a big difference. well, at least in performance. i saw no difference in the fuel mileage
Good fluids, I like Royal Purple. A modified valvebody or a shift kit. Gauges. Headers, supercharger, Gears, lighter driveshafts, torque converter, bigger throttlebody, nitrous, a truly custom tune done on a dyno with wide band O2 sensors,
The supercharger, driveshafts and TC are on my to be done list. nitrous is fun until the bottle is empty, so I am not going that route, but dollar per horse it's the cheapest way to go.
