Yep. Not surprising. He probably has spent that much on the truck too. Unfortunately, 2nd hand, stuff just doesn't hold its value.
I had a roommate once who tried to sell a pair of used cowboy boots at a garage sale. A woman offered him $20 for them and he got all offended by that. Apparently he paid $60 for them originally and expected to get every last dime out of them that he paid into them.
Same guy had a rusted out old Bobber that wouldn't even start and he was trying to sell it for $20,000.
That's quite the list of new parts for a truck with 108K. I was having a conversation this morning in the OBS forum about worth vs. value... obviously his truck is "worth" 30K to him but the "value" is going to be way, way less than that.
there is a race/street truck on "another site" where the owner of the site wants $35,000 for a 2000 PSD! dont get me wrong the engine and everything is built up, but i dont think it is worth $35,000!!!
"THIS TRUCK S*** AND GETS AND WILL LEAVE THE ROAD FULL OF SMOKE!!!" I think I found a new quote .
Well I agree with the Worth Vs Value statement, with that amount of parts replaced that isn't a good sign and the way he acts seems to me that the truck has been through hell and back 12K max.
My ol' mans always told me "A fool is soon to part with his money". In my area right now you cant hardly give a diesel away, no matter what the brand or flavor.

He sold the motor for $10k not including the twin setup...(if the same truck)
Amazing considering it looks like he started off with a XL model, the reality is we really cant get half of what we invest into our rigs out of em when it comes time to sell em. So I hope he likes his truck because I think he's gonna have it for a while at that price.
Anybody that starts modding their vehicle should know right off the bat, that you can kiss that $$$ goodbye when you decide to sell. BTW That supporter badge looks good Dan.
$30,000.00???
That's chump change compared to what some Vanagons are going for. THIS ONE SOLD for $115,053.15
And it is ten years older than that truck!
