I have a 1994 Ford F-150 V-8 5.0L. I recently replaced The Battery Cables in my truck. Now the check engine light comes on.I checked the code reader and 172-oxygen sensor lean.I repplaced with a new one.The check engine light keeps coming on and showing the same code.I erased the code, was ok going to work this morning. On the way home the check engine light came on again, checked code reader, same code. Any suggestions?

code 172 is hego always lean-that is I believe the egr valve!
Need help. Check engine light still on. Driving down highway about 65mph. Check engine light went off(yeah). Started losing power, stepped on gas wouldn't go any faster. Started hearing a popping noise coming from the engine. Kept doing this all the way home.Checked the code reader. Its still saying(172) o2 running lean, but its also saying 173 o2 running rich. Does this happen when the computer is resetting itself? Its not fun.
ok. So I went out and purchased a fuel pressure gage. The first time I checked it everything was well within specs. The second time I checked, The front tank dropped to 32psi, the range is 35 to 45psi. So could it be the fuel pump? The truck feels like stalling during idle.
Code 172 is "HEGO sensor circuit indicates system lean (right side)" That's not a O2 sensor problem, that's a fuel problem. Sounds like you may have a bad pump or clogged fuel filter from those pressure tests.
Replaced the fuel filter. Took truck for a ride. CEL came back on(would miss it if it wasn't there). Ran the code. Not only did 172 come up again but nowcode 157 MAF low voltage is showing up.
