Hey Lazy
I guess I dont need power steering while stationary. I just noticed while i was backing up my 6x12 cargo trailer to park it. I was just wondering if it was normal. If its normal than great. Then I dont need anything fixed if its not normal than I would like to fix it before I wind up damageing other things.

I just got a message from "Someday" saying F-250 Diesel and E 350 v 10 have hydraboost brakes as long as pushing the brake pedal in and your power steering is suppose to be hard than ok.

But If I find out there is no leaks in my pump than I am going to change the fluid. No sense change it now and realizing I have a leak

Not to throw a Cheby in on a Ford site, but:
We (the company I work for) has a 94 Chevy 1 ton 2 wheel drive, gas 350 motor, with the hydro brakes. at a dead stop and brakes applied, the steering is fine. Not hard at all. I love these brake set ups! Forget about them when you hit the brakes at low speed,,,, Damn near throw ya through the windshield!!!! lol But steering works fine either way on it.

Just came across this post, putting in my two cents.
FireWarrior there is nothing wrong with your truck, the dealership is trying to rip you off(it's what they do).
Ford trucks especialy the deisels are netorious for weak power stearing, even more so at idle. The front tires need to turn a bit to alow the stearing to turn while the truck is stopped. With the brakes on and the truck stopped the power stearing needs to overpower the front brakes to turn the wheels.
Hydroboost or not it doesn't matter.

Hope this helps
