Introduction

Hi,
I have been on FTE for a quite some time now, and also made several posts on the NorthCal chapter but never really introduced myself:
Here some info
Name: Andrew, 28 (married) grew up in Italy...
Location: Santa Clara, Ca
Occupation: Finance for High-Tech company
Truck/cars : 04 BMW 330i ZHP (Performance Package) 6MT 40K miles
05 F350 King Ranch PSD CC SB 4X4 (Copper) 64K (AirRaid intake, Magnaflow exhaust both added by previous owner) and a newly added Leer Shell 64K miles
Truck is used for: carry the dogs (2 Siberian Huskies)
carry the mt bikes
the home depot....
tow 06 Circle J Lightning 4H BP horse trailer 2-3 horses:
5 year old PMU rescue (wife), 11 years oldNSH (wife….don’t ask), 3 year old Shire (mine and going to be a big boy…18h)
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
Anyway I wanted to know if there is anybody in the vicinity that would like to show me around the truck a bit (since we just got it 3 months ago we had a 05 F150 before): perhaps show me how to do oil changes and some regular tune-ups…we can come up with some sort of compensation as well
Thanks
Andrew

Welcome. I pull a Circle J 3H BP. As far as showing you around the upkeep on your truck... Think very carefully about doing your own oil changes. Diesels have oil in gallons not quarts. Its not really any different than changing oil on a gas motor its just a lot more oil. You picked a great place to pick up the knowledge to do it. These guys are full of info.

I'd help you out, but hanging around me, you might end up with twin turbos & nitrous on it.

"Diesels have oil in gallons not quarts."

I sold an '89 250 with a banks turbo'd 7.3 and yeah, coming from a gas background, I was stunned at how much oil diesels take. I think it was around 10qts with a filter change.

30+ horses?....are you a boarding place or breeding farm?

My 3yr old shire is about 17h and his parents were 18.1+ and 17.3....so hopefully he'll reach 18
I had a Perch X PMU mare, but unfortunately she was eating rocks and passed away 1 week after having surgery to remove them...sad times

Neither! LOL... We run a therapeutic riding center out in watsonville... We own all 30+! Sorry to hear about your mare... The one we have was a breeding mare and she is just wonderful she only foaled once before she was rescued. Her foal was saved too.

Nolan and I do 99% of that hauling duty for the program. When diesel hit $5.50 a gallon our fuel bill was high too.
