I guess I should have spent the money and went the ATS Housing route. I installed the WW a while back and all surge was gone. It's back but it's only surging when I punch it, if I gradually roal on the trottle it don't seem to surge. I even set chip to stock and it would surge. Its a strange surging sound too, kinda like a little chick chirping. With a baby on the way, I can't be spending any money right now. I'm just frustrated
When I replaced my up pipes with the bellowed ones,I didnt get all the joints tight at first, when I would get on it would have this sound like a slow policemans whistle( I know that sounds just retarted but oh well..lol). It may not be YOUR problem but I thought I would throw it out there. I also lost a little boost too,OH well...bump if nothing else..heh heh.
Send me your turbo/spyder/up pipes/pedistal/plenums and all boots and I'll send you all the same off my early bird, plus all the new O-rings you'll need. Voila, surge cured at very minimal cost!
On a serious note it seems odd that it would surge in the stock setting, I would do like Phil said and also check for other small boost leaks that might be causing the noise.
I'm kinda hoping its not surging and its something simple like loose bolt or something. I need to do the CCV mod, you guys wouldn't think oil in there would have anything to do with surge would it?

Not directly, but possibly an IC tube that blew out but not completely is causing the noise you're hearing?
Maybe its the restriction of the filter. When i put in my WW i didn't use lock tite on the turbo bolts but every once and a while i'll check them, never found a loose one. Good luck and tell us what you find after the filter change...
You could have someone rev the engine up while you look under the hood around the rear of the engine compartment. You should be able to hear the sound or if its like the up pipes you should see some smoke.
UDATE: Don't know why I din't think of this earlier, but I found the surging culprit. I posted before this thread that my EGT prob blew out of the manifold. I thought that I could get buy with a quck patch till I could get time to correctly fix the EGT prob. I used a hose clamp and some flexable aluminum to band-aid the hole on the manifold, worked great for a while, then one side blew out. Anyway drilled and tapped new EGT prob and everything is hunky-dory!
