I am still concidering one of these balancers. I think Rodney said that there was a clearance issue with the water pump pulley. If anyone has some insite on these dampners please chime in.
Thanks Rodney. Sounds like I need to get the SD water pump pulley and it should be okay. Hmmmm
No need for the smaller pulley. The smaller pulley will change the speed of the
water pump also changes the tension of the belt some.
The problem is you cannot remove/install the belt. The air gap from the pulley to the damper is smaller than the thickness of the belt.
My fix was to grind a flat spot on the front edge of the pulley to allow the belt to pass.
Now i just have to clock the pulley to remove/install the belt.
The damper does not use a ring on it for the oil seal.
I ground it on about a 22*and 90* angle so the belt can pass.
Take off just enough for it to pass. The pulley is stamped
and you could grind thru it.
In other words dont get nuts grinding.
