I purchased a thermostat from Rock Auto, said “OEM temp”… the box it came in says it is a 198 degree thermostat. Will this cause major issues ?
It should not if your cooling system is in good shape, as it should be.
The higher temp you may get some spark knock, pinging, that you had so you may have to check / adjust timing retard a bit is the only thing I can see happening.
