My truck is cutting out when accelerating. It starts fine and at a steady speed seems to be running ok. It is clattering especially loud. When it switches to veg (seperate pump) the problem goes away. I changed the fuel filter in hopes this would fix the promblem; it didn't. I leaning towards the fuel pump getting weak. I have an AutoEnginuity scanner, but don't if it picks up pressure. The truck has 160,000 miles on it, and don't know if the pump was ever changed by the previous owner (I doubt if it was). Any ideas? Thanks
Just crawled all under the truck and didn't see any signs of weeping lines. I'll trying blowing back through the line to see if there is a clogged fuel pickup and then the temperary pressure guage if necessary tomorrow. My back went out went I got out of bed this morning, and crawling around under the truck didn't do it any good. Good thing my chiropractor is a friend of mine and sees me on Sundays!
That sounds alot like when my fuel pump went out, except mine started smoking blue and like you said cutting in and out and mine had no power whatsoever when I would use the accelerator.
