im thinkin about buyin a set of 33 inch pro comp m/t's. i was wondering if anyones got any experience with em. theyed be used for daily driving and mild muddin, and trails. im gonna put em on an 88 f150, along with a 2 inch daystar leveling kit. thanks in advance, this is the first set of new tires i am looking to purchase ever so i want to make it good. only other set of truck tires ive had was a barley used set of mt/rs that i didnt like, cause they didnt clean. thanks again.
they clean a little better than mtrs. They have pretty good street manners, not terrible off road but they are no super swamper. You might consider interco's ssr. Never had any personal expirience but I hear good things about them
Some people have had good luck with Pro-Comp, some people have had bad. They can & do blow out sometimes. I can say this for sure, they don't / won't stand behind them or any of the damage that might happen. Your on your own.
There was a thread in the tire section about the AT's that are being recalled.
i have 31s on my truck and they dont clean worth ****...they ball up and bogg ya down...havent had em long enough to know how long they last on highway though...my truck sees a lot of that...and a lot of mud too...i bought the truck with these tires so i dont know the prices but ive heard they are expensive...if you like mud mud and more mud but do lots of commuting id say superswamper tsl radial tires heard nothin but good from them
i would love to plunk money on swampers right now. ive always wanted a set of tsl's since i was little, cause my dad had em on a 76 we used around the farm, they were unstoppable. but i dont have the money for em right now. why i am going and trying my luck with the pro comps is, they are real cheap at 4wheel parts right now, buy 3 get 1 free, 70 doller shippin, and free road hazard insurance. this obviously isnt the last set of tires im buyin, next time around will be after an sas swap i think and then ill go swampers. i sppose the m/ts maybe aint so great but, ill make em work. thanks all. like said though dot met wrong i love swampers i see them in the future just not right now.
ya my swampers will be post-sas too haha im just gonna stick it out with the m/ts till they die...and try to hold off the offroad urge ... ive had these things in every kind of mud around here stick, wet, chunky, slimy you name it and it dont matter 8ft in they ball up...ive had my truck stuck twice out of about 4 trips due to ZERO traction and the two i didnt get stuck in were in a big low spot mostly water... the pic in my sig was taken after one of them trips
around where i live we dont have many real wheelin spots. we have a place we call the sand pits which just a bunch of real big puddles basically, some small trails and a nasty little mud area, they closed off the old quarry which was one of the better spots, we got the powerline trails there no good for a big truck though, tight and rocky. so other than that its just drive around on dirt roads till you find somthin, which is a past time of mine, just followin dirt roads. my point is, swampers actually might be a little over kill for me right now anyway, thanks for the in put though. i did research that recall alittle, but all i could find was recalls on the xtreme all terrain, even though everyone shows pictures of a poorly taken care wore out m/t.
