Hey guys, I have been racking my brain for the past 2 days on my 94 and can't figure out why it will not start, so here is the story.......
A couple days ago I left for work, truck started fine and ran like usual cold. Got to the gas station and went in and when I came back out the truck sould not start (crank over fast but no fire) All I had was a lil eather so I gave it a small shot and it started and ran like normal, now it won't fire at all with out a shot of starting fluid or WD-40.
So here is what I have done or checked so far.....
Replaced the CPS with my spare, truck started and ran but then died down the road and would not restart even with the WD_40 or eatherreplaced with another CPS and back to the same thing, HPOP full, fuel pressure is 55psi while cranking and 55-65 when running. Had a buddy bring his MODUS over and had 2 codes, one for an intermitent CPS and one for EBPS circuit fault. Cleared codes assuming the CPS was the bad one I put in and only the EBPS code returned. All pids looked good, checked batt voltage during crank and it's at 11.1v
So here I am scratching my head, anyone have any thoughts??? Can the EBPV bieng stuck closed cause a no start and an EBPS code to set?? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!
I would do like duck said and check your IPR o-rings was having a sim prob. with it hard starting replaced Ipr o-rings and everything is back to normal now.
Injector pressure regulator, contoles ypur hpop oil pressure that is used to fire the injecters.
back on topic, make sure your selionoid on the ipr is tight, thay have a cheesy stamped steel nut that has come loose, if its cold starting issues look at the glow plug relay, the part from napa is gpr110, I am personaly using the gpr 109 for the last 2 years with no issue, just have to munipulate the wires into a different position and the gpr109 is cheaper. Another thing you can do is remove the injector drive modual and shake it around and listen for water inside. The injecter drive modual is the silver box on the inside fenderwell on the driver side closer to the firewall.
It's not really a cold start issue, happens more when warm, and I use the "old style" GP relay too and haven't had a problem, and it was about $40 cheaper lol.
I never thought to check the IDM, we have gotten ALOT of rain here lately. I will try and tear into it this week sometime if work and weather permit.
