Yesterday

Yesterday, I bought a '97 Ranger 3.0 V6, auto. The seller told me that the air doesn't work but actually the whole ventilation system is a problem. As soon as the truck is warm, I can feel hot air all the time. I can get defrost but all the other settings seem to be the same. The blower works.

Can you be a little more specific?

Is the problem that you can't control the temperature (most likely a blend door issue)?

Or is it that the air doesn't blow out of the proper vents (vacuum leak in climate control system).

The switch may be the problem.

i had that same problem in my 86 ranger.... it would always blow extremely hot air on my feet... I just left it alone because i was lazy at that point in my life....
