I'm currently in the process of putting back together a 79 250 2wd crew cab that got whacked pretty hard up front. I got the frame horns about as straight as I can get them. My question is I got a 79 2wd f-150 that I bought mostly for the sweet running 302 that I need for my 77 Bronco. But was wondering if the front radiator support, grill pieces, and fenders would be bolt on replacements for my crew cab. The thing that concerns me is if there would be a difference in the front frame widths between the 150 and 250. Any help would be appreciated but may find out for myself tomorrow afternoon. Thanks.
IN "theory" they should bolt right up body is all the same only differences between 150 and 250 (that i know of) are possibly motor, drivetrain and mainly suspension parts
The fenders and grill will swap right over. There are two kinds of radiator supports - one that mounts the radiator from the front and one that mounts it from the back. If the radiators between the two trucks look the same then the radiator support will swap right over too. Within the 1979 model year, you don't have to worry about frame widths.
