"All you need is a soldering iron and some solder, one pass of solder on each contact and your done."

Reps to you Chris!!

Something isn't right. Try the DP in your buddies truck. It makes no sense that one will work and the other won't.

Unless the PCM code is wrong. DP is a little more PCM particular than the more generic TC,,,I think.

Sounds like the dp's jacked up. That's odd too, my buddy just ordered the DP, fried his first PCM installing it (his fault, dp was NOT in the truck when it was fried), got the stealership's new PCM in and cleaned, installed DP, nooooo fire. Not knocking Jody or Dennis, don't want anybody thinking that, just a coincidence

Was the old (fried) PCM and new one from the dealer the same code? If not, that my be his problem.

Not sure what code he had before, but assuming it was the same. He's also the type of person that would scrape the contacts down to a whole so i cant give him much credit lol.

You will need to send it back to him for the chip to be examined. If anything is weird it will be replaced. A few things to check though. Our chips fit very snug on the J3 port connection. Run your finger nail across the traces and see if you can feel any more sticky silicone. If there is any it might be enough to cause a bad connection. Also if all of the tinning has been removed corrosion can occur that can cause a no start condition over time. The cable can not have any tugging from the back of the switch connection. The cable connection at the chip must have a tight fit as well. Any tugging and it will not work properly. Check these out and let Dennis know what you find.

Hey Diane, don't know if you got my e-mail or not, my comp been kind of goofy lately but since your on here, i got a CB hooked up in my truck and when i,m driving and i key up the mic the truck dies, lights all come on the dash. If i put it in neutral and turn it off and recrank it over, starts right up. The hot for the CB is hooked up to the drivers side battery. Any thoughts. Sorry for the Hi-jack...
