It should be mass air, and it's definitely a roller motor if it's original. To see if it's mass air, look for the mass air meter connectors near the airbox.
The swap should be pretty easy, but your M5OD might not like all that extra torque.
An interior swap will be extremely time consuming and completely custom. I would say it's not worth it.
Im a bit nervous because my brother has a 94 or 95 F-150 with a 351 and it is a speed density motor....damnit!
Im not real excited about the extra power going to the tranny but the reason I am building the truck up is because it is going to be a work truck and I am going to keep my foot out of it to get the best mileage.
It's possible that it is mass air, but not likely. It is definitely a roller block, but there's no guarantee that it actually has a roller cam in it either...
I'd stick with the '88 interior. What few things that could go wrong are easier to fix or replace on the older ones, IMHO. The later dashes don't seem to hold up as well, I see a LOT of cracked, nasty dashes on '92 and ups. My '87 has a little of the gray worn off on the passenger's side above the pad, but otherwise has held up real well. The only thing I could possibly recommend swapping would be the seat because it's a bolt-to-bolt swap in most cases, and even then, only if you find one that's nice. The headrests would be worth having for safety purposes, and of course the padding will be a little better as Ford put a little more emphasis on "long-haul comfort" from '92 on.
jnewkirk- yea I think I might stick with the older dash. It does seem to be more sturdy then the newer dash but I must admit, the climate control *****, radio location, and steering column are a big improvement from the 87-91. I am definately with you on the seat. Im getting this truck back on the road to use it for work and i am going to spend many hour with my back side in the seat.
I hope its MAF, I dont understand why Ford would only do it to the 302s and not just put it on all the small blocks, it doesnt make much sense.
