Code Alarm CA671 Ford Explorer Lock/Unlock Problems

Hello,

I'm installing a Code Alarm CA671 into a 2006 Ford Explorer with the keypad. It seems that the CA671 is not sending a lock/unlock pulse to the Explorer on the first press of the transmitter. I counted and it takes 2 presses of the remote to unlock the vehicle, and 6 presses to relock the vehicle.

Both wires from the CA671 are connected correctly to the vehicle's lock/unlock wires and installed with diodes, but the CA671 doesnt seem to send a ground signal to the vehicle on the first press of the transmitter. When i manually send a ground signal to the lock/unlock wire in the vehicle it will lock/unlock with every pulse so i know its not the vehicle.

I have the manual arm/disarm and unlock switch sense wires hooked up to the vehicle to make the keypad work- does this have anything to do with the problem?

Is there a setting on the CA671 I should be using? Is there any trick to an install on a Ford Explorer?
