We hae a 93 bronco with a manual 5 speed tranny with a 302. We are trying to replace the speedometer cable, it seems to be connecting to the tranny on the bottom left side the the tranny, but we have no idea how to disconnet the stupid thing!! Also we cant take off the fuel filter on the left side of the frame, any advice will be very helpful. Thanks.
The problem I see with the disconnect tool is most people dont know how to use it. It took me awhile and I still have trouble getting the fittings off.

do not disconnect that black hose. It is hydraulic clutch. it near those black rubber cover on left that you say? Do not loose or touch because it for clutch.
Um, The guys are right, there is NO SPEEDOMETER CABLE on a '93. The speedometer is triggered by the VSS mounted in the top of the rear axle housing. The gauge in completely electronic and has no mechanical link to the driveline whatsoever.
Release fuel pressure BEFORE attempting to work on any portion of the fuel system. Pop the inertia switch plunger up and start the truck. Let it run 'til it dies. Turn off the truck and work on the fuel system once things have cooled down.
As for the fuel filter on the frame rail, you will need to get your hands on a set of HVAC high pressure fitting separator tools. Lisle makes a plastic set that I've always had success with. (Lisle tools P/N 37000). They need to be pressed into the back side of the fittings on either end of the filter (one at a time) before they will release their hold on the filter. Be careful, the filter holds about a half cup of fuel and it will spill easily once the fittings are released.
Ya all of you are absolutely correct!! Figured everything out and replaced the sensor on the rear end. Speedometer works fine, abs light off, fuel filter replaced and back on the road!! THANK YOU ALL!!!
