somewhere, somehow, there is a chart listing max trailer and GCV weights for the engine/tranny/axle combo. I just dont happen to have one for 83. All 3 of my 90's listed 7200lbs 302/aod/3.55
naw i have an edelbrock intake and carb and long tube headers on a 93 5.0 thats been swapped into the truck but if i can find a rear end around here that has 3.50's or somewhere in that range thats gettin thrown in there im just worried mainly about the trans
Trans should be fine if you keep it cool. that boat might be only18 ft, but thats an old heavy trailer and old heavy fiberglass with old heavy plywood - 4000lbs? you can swap in an 8.8 in 3.55 which are a dime a dozen in the boneyards.
yes but isnt the stock GVWR for those trucks or somethin i know 4000 is going to be a strain with the gears i have in there now but anyways
im about to get a nice size check from the army so im trying to decide what toys i should get with out hurting my truck
have pulled my dads 15 ft edson fiberglass boat with an 86 f 150 4x4 302 efi aod trans, no problems. have pulled auto carriers 3 times to move stuff, but keep it in 3rd mostly for that
