Ford engine weight web page

After our discussion on 460s and 400s, I started page with just engine weights.

Hopefully I will stay up on it and keep new engines added.

Tim,
Thanks, but why does the first 400 weigh 110# more than the second?

First engine is a complete, second is a long block.

400/460

Sure am glad to see a clear picture with the weights. These weights fit with what some of the older charts show. (351W--~525#/ 351C---~550#/ 351M/400---~575#). I think those older weights were fully dressed front with starter, including iron heads and intake.

Its almost worth going back to some old forums where some statements were made that the 400 was a big and heavy as a 460 (~720#)

Tim---next time you have nothing else to do-- and if you just happen to have a dressed iron 460 laying around, how about hooking it under that dillon and post a pic.
