I am working on a 2003 6.0 that had an intermittent dying problem, when I drove it home 100 miles no problems.
I checked every plug in the engine compartment for corrosion.
checked for chaffing on the harness did not find any.
drove truck to work today than to the cat dealer, no problem.
on my way home the truck died at least 30 times the trip was 12 miles,
I am opening up both harness to inspect wires right now,
so far the only problem was a broken lock where the injector loom plugs into the FICM!
any Ideas short of a $500.00 harness from ford?
Have you checked for codes? Has the ICP pigtail been replaced with the purple wired updated connector?
no codes.
where is the icp?
I have a lot of 7.3 experience but limited on the 6.0
also it only dies when heat soaked. it ran good this morning, got it up to operating temp. shut it off for about 15 minutes than run it again and it dies every 10 to 15 seconds doesn't mater if driving or sitting idling.
The ICP is under the turbo. If it only dies warm it has the tell tale signature of a high pressure oil leak. This link will help you get to know the 6.0.The second one should help you out finding the problem in the HPO system.PM me if you have any trouble pressurizing the system its a pain in the azz on an 03. 6.0L Bible Table of Contents FDDTS - 6.0L ICP System Leaks

I changed the ICP, it was leaking oil.
as far as a high pressure leak everything I have read says it is hard to start after it stalls or will not start at all untill it cools down. this truck will fire back up as fast as you can cycle the key after it stalls.
last week it had only stalled once in a while, maybe once on a 100 mile trip.
Monday I cleaned all of the connections on the engine harness and the injector harness and now it will run fine for the first leg of a trip ie. Tuesday I drove it to work 10 miles no problem, truck sat and cooled off completly. drove it to the cat dealer 5 miles no problem. in there 15 to 20 minutes, start the truck and it will only run 15 to 20 seconds. cycle the key and it fire right up and runs 15 to 20 seconds.
today I drove it to the parts store no problem in there 15 minutes leave to go home truck dies every 10 to 15 seconds restarts instantly.
later today I changed the ICP, drove it 10 miles no problem, parked it at my house for 15 minutes and it died by the end of my driveway. did the run 10 to 15 seconds restsart several times
HELLI,GO TO CHECKER AND BARROW THE code reader, you can do it in the parking lot.their code reader will give you the code and tell you the problem part.its also free to use it as long as you give them your D L. good luck

The 6.0 relies on good clean oil to fire the injectors and it needs regular maint. on the fuel filters to protect the injectors. Either one if neglected can kill the 6.0.
There is an updated connector for the ICP when it leaks it often pushes oil up the harness.Take the heat wrap off the pig tail and make sure the wires are not soaked in oil, there is a TSB for it.The fact that the truck only quits once warmed up makes me think HPO system or a problem with the PCM once the truck is out of the cold opperating stratagy.

it only quits when warm after being shut off for a while. if you keep driving it is fine but once you shut the engine off and re start it the dying starts.
