venting

Over the past 3 days of getting parts around to work on my truck I have gotten so frustrated that every parts place thinks my truck is light duty! I keep telling them they made 2 different styles of 250's in 97, and they don't get it. Why would they put a 7.3l diesel in that tiny a$$ light truck! I'm thinkin about just telling them its a 96 from now on. There aren't any differences between the 96 and 97 are there?

Yep, Just tell them it's a '96....they are essentially the same.
Parts counter people are not the brightest bulb on the tree.
I can't tell you how many times I've had a run in with
"Know-it-all's" behind the counter that have never touched a wrench.

If I am not looking the parts up myself I generally do just that. Tell them its a 96 and not a 97. Many parts listings are wrong as well as the part people.

GVWR greater than 8500 lbs is our truck. Mine is 8800 lbs and most are the same till you get to 350 and then it goes up more. I believe the light duty is 8400 GVWR
