Charging problem
Hello all,
So I have been wrestling with a charging problem the last 3 days. I thought it was the plug on the alternator but I have since cut off the old one and soldered on a new one, but I am still not getting a charge to my batteries. So I also swapped out the aternator with a new one. Still not charging. Any ideas??
Thanks
Tyler

Could it be your wires? Check them from front to back. Does the battery hold a charge or just not receiving a charge?

The battery cables are good. Do the wires on the top of the alternator run back into the cab at a point that might rub through them?

I was going to suggest checking the grounds but sounds like you already have. Hope it ends up being simple (cost wise anyway).

I checked number 6 fuse and it was good, but number 7 was popped. Everything works great now. I need to stat checking the little things first.

On some Ford platforms this is true, but the 6G's regulator on SuperDutys is a "gray with gray cover" type, which is independent. No external control.
