Help with CD6 player
I have a 05 fx4 supercab with the CD6 player. I got on here and went through the steps of trying to fix it so that the stupid "CD error" or "no CD" message doesn't appear. But i couldnt get it to work. My question is that my friend has a CD6 player from a focus that he took out and replaced with an aftermarket deck. He said he would sell it to me for $50 which seems like a decent buy to replace mine. The mounting holes match up perfect with mine and everything. Will it work? I know I could just pull mine out and put it in and test it, im just trying to save some time.

It should work, there maybe one difference though. Some CD6 units have "MP3" below the cd slot and some don't. If it has the "MP3" on it, it just means that it will play a CD with music in MP3 form and is able to display text as well as the standard CD track information. It also means that you can use a PIE adapter with it for a external mp3 player or Ipod and is compatable with the factory subwoofer.

I would just pull the radio out of your truck it takes less then 5 minutes, only 4 bolts and just make sure it has the same plugs, they have several different hook ups. The mounts can usually be interchanged between radios. My radio is out of a focus the same year as my truck as long as the plugs are the same you should be able to interchange it.
