I just received a replacement "Vehicle Emission Control Information" decal from JBG for my 1977 F150 302 AT engine (p/n-29862). The sticker reads "302 CATALYST" and "Engine Family EGR/AIR" and was supposed to be correct for a 76-77 302 AT truck. My truck did not come from the factory with a catalytic convertor or an EGR valve and was designed to use regular gas. I wanted to put this sticker on my valve cover of my rebuilt 302 engine, but I don't want to cause any issues when I go to get my truck inspected. Anyone know a source for a non-cat, non-EGR, Ford 302 w/ AT? Thanks.
He's talking about the emissions sticker under the hood - cujo, is this the original motor? A 77 would definitely have EGR, and depending on location, very possibly AIR and a catalytic converter. Are you sure the motor has never been swapped, or modified?
I thought going to the F150 (raising gvw) from F100 is how Ford got away with not putting Catalysts on the trucks for those few years on the 1/2 tons. My 77 F150 351M had nothing but the charcoal canister on it if I remember correctly

Rockstone is correct on gvw cut-off, Ford made the F150 a little heavier than the F100 to beat the smog rules. The engine in my truck is all original and came stock with out a catalytic convertor, EGR, or charcoal canister. The gas fill up hole is also larger than the unleaded version. Many of you younger folks may not know that when they came out with vehicles that were designed to use unleaded gas, they made the fill hole smaller, so you could not stick a regular gas nozzle into the opening. A lot of people would enlarge the fill hole on the unleaded vehicles, so they could run regular (leaded) gasoline because it was cheaper.
The decal I'm talking about is the one that goes on the valve cover and tells things like the proper timing value, idle speed, choke setting, etc for the engine.
Here's a link to what I bought from JBG, but the picture is not very clear:
I didn't know folks read those stickers; But thanks for informing me of someone that sells them. If I ever replace my aftermarket valve coverswith stock; I now have a place to buy such items.
