Hi all...nice forum. We are looking for a larger SUV as our family is growing fast and have narrowed it down to the Expedition. Looks like we will keep our search to the 220 and 2006 model years. We have found a few in the area that are nice. Anything I should be looking for? Also, every single Expedition I have looked at and this is probably 15 now has some sort of bubbling paint on the rear tailgate. On a 2 - 3 year old vehicle with 50k for mileage I do not see why this should be there.
Also, we have never bought a used car/truck before. 71k too many miles? It is a 2005, EB, 4x4, HD tow package (which we need) and they quoted me a price of $14,800. Does that seem fair or high?
Much appreciated and looking forward to contributing in the future.
To determine value try KBB.com, or Edumunds.com. I think in this current economy and depending on your method of purchasing the truck, you can get a much better price if your willing to haggle. This is a buyers market now and these large trucks just aren't selling.
Coastieguy, was that on a new truck? Most dealers here are willing to go more than what you were offered but only if that trade is towards a new full sized truck or SUV.
That seems high for an '05. In the Atlanta area they are going for a lot less.
I'm on my family's 3rd Expedition, so obviously we love them. Great family truck and not a ton of maintenance issues. We have has more issues with the '03 than we do with the '96 or '99, but still a good SUV.
