06 F250 5.4 starting problems
Went out to start my dads truck this morning in 17*f weather and it did not want to run right. It ran like it was a cold dsl and i had to tap on the gas pedal to get it to settle down. I have been noticing that it smell like gas after starting up through out the summer. I have been running injector cleaner through it during the summer at different times. It only has about 9500 miles on it. This truck has been a gas hog from the start using more than other truck with the same engine. The truck has the 6 speed manual.

Okay thanks for the hints and bad news is that the nearest dealer is 400 air miles away.
We have 2 shops in town but one is $180hr anf the other is somewhat untrustable.
The check engine light is not going on at anytime. What simple ways are there to check on this things?

Fuel pressure leakdown test would tell you if you are losing fuel pressure due to a bad fuel regulator/check valve or leaky injector. Connect the gage, and leave it in place after shutdown. Watch the pressure periodically for 30-60 min.
