Hello, first off let me introduce myself, Greg, 94 mazda b3000 owner from Boston. Great Site. Lot of information on here. My question is that I need a drivers side window for my truck. Will a side window from a 97 Ranger be compatable with a 94 B3000? I have heard that windows are interchangeable but don't want to buy it and not have it fit. Secondly has anyone switched one out? How hard of a job is it? Will a Chilton's manual touch on the swap. Been a while since I looked through one.
Thanks in advance,
Greg

I just did this on the passanger side and got one off a 97 at pull a part. Wasn't too bad. If your pulling your own part try to grab the white bushing things if you can because mine were broken. If its the first time it's being done I belive you'll need to drill the rivets on the white things and replace them with bolts and nuts. Mine had already been done at some point and were bolted. Hardest part of the whole job was vacuuming all the glass. I still find glass now and then.
the glass is the same be aware that when installing the new bolts the size is 1/4x20x1 in other words a qtr twenty 1 inch long these will be a 7/16th head and if you can get the one with the plastic locker built into the nut that will prevent them from vibrating loose and just snug them tight do not over tighten or you will have more small peices of glass all over the place again
Thanks for the tips and advice. Bullredguy, where would I have the best change getting those nuts and bolts, anywhere in particular? Any other advice is always welcomed. Thanks again!
Greg
The previous owner had installed the wrong bolts. Undersized and that is why my window shattered one day when I closed the door. Lowe's had the bolts and the lock nuts.(nut's with plastic locker in it)
also make sure that the 2 plastic bushings that fit in the hole that if there is any broken glass in them that you take an old shop towel and brush them clean. don't worry about the any glass powder its the bigger shards that will interfere with when you reassemble also remove the glass run channel from the door to get all the broken glass out of it also otherwise its a very easy install
