Power Steering Problem
In tight quarters manuvers. When I put constant puressure on the brakes and turn the steering wheel. I lose power steering. If I let off the brake. Power steering seem to be working again.
What is wrong?

Nothing, unfortunately this is a tendancy of the hydroboosted trucks. The pump doesn't seem to have enough output in certain situations to be able to turn the wheel. Sometimes it's the type of tire, sometime it's the particular truck or pump. When I got my truck, i could STAND on the brake and still turn the wheel. However, when it was cold the pump was really noisy. I changed the pump out, and it was near impossible to turn the wheel with the brakes on, even lightly. I changed the pump again recently and used synthetic fluid and it's better but not what it was originally.

This happens with my gasser vacuum-boosted 2001 too. The geometry of the front end requires the wheels to turn when you are turning the steering wheel, with the brakes on, you have to overcome the brakes.
Some of the power steering pumps are not strong enough to overcome the brakes.
However, with Hydroboost, it's even worse.
Do you have a diesel or gas engine?
