Just wanted to thank you again for your exceptional hospitality, it really made our trip up to Toon Town.
And I owe you, for those 460's, I am going to make something very special with them and you get First official cruise in the stang when the motors done.
Erik, it was my pleasure meeting you yesterday! I deffinitly want to hear more about your special project as you come along with it, I would even like to come up and give you a hand with that 302, when you are ready to start swinging it in place
Sheldon, it was great to finally put a person to your posting here on FTE, wich we would have had more time to take you for a rip in the mustang, and also visit more, but that means I will just have to make another trip up there
Thanks again guys, I had a blast hanging out with you for the day!!!!!!!
It sure was a good day. The Stang is awesome, it was sweet burning down 22nd, the power is unreal! Hope the 460's work out for you, and If you need some info I have a pretty good amount floating around in my head on the old 385 series motors.
My pleasure John, Mieka, we all enjoyed your company immensely yesterday.
It was awesome to see your Mustang performing so well on the dyno.
The ride in it afterwards was absolutely unforgettable!
I was glad to pass the 460`s to you and I hope the at least one of the is usable, let me know when you/Mieka tear it down.
I`m really looking forward to the seeing a 460 in your Mustang next summer. I think it`s a perfect street-strip car now, it`ll be absolutely wild then!
It was definatly nice to meet you and your lil lady. I wish i could have got out to Morris's, and i wish i woulda got to perfomance plus a little earlier to get a ride in the stang!
Man that thing sounds MEAN!! I just cant get over it, sitting in my truck, I could feel the engine rumble my truck when you and meika were loading it, insane!
John, did you ever get the 460`s apart yet to see if they`re useable?
First block from back of your shed is apart and only one cylinder was rough. Piston was 3/4 way down and there was 1 cup of dry dirt in there, and the cylinder wall was pretty rusty but not gone in my opinion. A decent 30 ro 40 bore should deffinitly clean it right up. The rest of the cyinders look great
The second block that was out back hasn't been pulled apart yet, that one is Mieka's learning project. She was helping with the first one and second one is all hers.
So you guys gotta get on her case for not having it apart yet.
I'll post a picture later of the block and bad cylinder.
This sounds good John. Was the block standard or was it bored some already?
That I don't know, I will have to get that checked out. I got the day off, so maybe I'll take it to the machine shop for something to do and get it all checked out
It was nice to meet everyone in toontown. Thanks Morris for keeping us entertained. I am looking forward to getting the 460 apart. I am assuming that it won't even fit in the '65 stang I guess John is lucky - I won't beable to steal it.
Ah haaa... I was under the impression that a 460 wouldn't work in the 65 stang.
But I am thinking that the 393 will be perfect for it. I am more excited to learn about exactly how the 393 works by hopefully taking it apart and putting it back together.
I have been given the task to take apart the second 460 engine from Morris to gain some experience.. So i hope to tackle that tonight!
I was just checking out some of the amounts of posting numbers you boys have! WoW! I have some posting to do to catch up ..
I do like the 460 for practrice because everything is so big and I think it will be easier to work with. These hands haven't turned to many wreches. I am so awkward doing it at the moment but I am hoping it will be easier in time. I wish using tools would come more naturally!
