CAC Tube

Lost power and lots of black smoke with high egt. I thought the vanes were stuck in the turbo. Instead I found a large hole in the blue hose connecting the cac tube to the turbo. Anyone ever had this happen or have an idea as to the cause?

If your turbo didn't overboost then it's a defective hose. I've had two sets of hoses replaced under warranty. They didn't blow but were leaking oil thru the pores of the rubber.

Mine had a hole in the bottom near the clamp. It would only boost to about 18 psi but no smoke. Ford replaced it and put a new turbo on.

i had a hole in mine when i bought it, just replaced it myself and its been fine since, about 3 years now.
