i was at a ford truck center a few weeks back and seen on there price board at winterzation....
does anyone know what this includes ( i havent called yet)
and is there anything specific that needs to be done before winter
any suggestions for winter survival other than good battteries
not sure what they do..but for me when November hits..I run my fuel tank just as low as I can to make sure any water makes it way out. I then refill and add DK in the white bottle,,( ill also start using this at every fuel up.and keep the tank full) then ill pull the fuel filter drain the bowl, flush it out good with fresh fuel and put in a new filter..and I change that filter every 5000 miles in the winter..get some test strip from IH and test the coolant.. check and clean all connection to the batteries... check PS,Trans and rear ends making sure there full and no moisture in the oil..grease every fitting i can find and grease the slide pins on the brakes..i then give her a bath and a coat of wax to help keep the salt off her...
The only other thing I can think of is switching to 5W-40 syn oil. Flows MUCH better when cold, and pretty much cures the romps. Also make sure your GP relay is good...
oh yes..good one on the GP's Joe.. I forgot about them..pin out below to check them at the valve cover...I use delo 400 15/40 year round and don't even get as much as a romp and only plug her in if its going to be bellow 0..delo is a syn blended oil....
Pin Out

***The injectors fire with a 115VDC signal from the IDM do not pierce to wires to test.***
Ohm between "I" and "C" to test the injectors, should be less than 5.0 Ohms
To check glow plugs Ohm between "G" and battery ground should be between 0.1 and 2.0 Ohms
