5.0 eec swap
I dismissed it originally because the last swap we did required some reprogramming and rewiring to get it to work. The rewiring not to terribly complex since it was a Honda Civic we did this to and there are plenty of tuners out there to assist. Well you got my interest and I used the search function to see if I could find any info on it. No joy.
My questions.
Do you have to reprogram the eec?
If you have to reprogram the eec is there anyone who could point me a direction to get it done?
This last one isnt really related but I have to ask. Anyone ever tried to mount a side draft carb to the EFI intake manifold of a 4.9? Kinda lookin at things and it looks like it would work out rather well once I could get an adapter plate for it. This is another idea for another time once I don't have to worry about emmissions anymore. Im guessing a little more work than bolting the thing on is going to be required.
People have mounted 4v carbs to the top of the efi plenum and ran it. A long *** runner isnt unusual, look at some of the mopar inline intakes. Youd definitely have to clean the intake,
, going through it with a 60/80 grit "hone" would likely improve air/fuel movement, as the efi intake is rather smooth as is, which as you know is fine for moving air but fuel wants to stick to a smooth surface, which is no good. Ive thought about this myself but figured the TB, already looks like a side draft and has the efi so why screw with it, although Im looking for some velocity stacks to adapt to the TB bores to enhance the side draft look.
