Hello everyone, I have a very frustrating problem that I can't solve. My 2005 F350 Sometimes starts without a problem then the next time takes a long time cranking before it starts. Then it cranks to the point were it just about drains battery power totaly then starts. It has left me stranded twice to the point of needing a boost to get me going. When it starts it runs fine with no problems. What could be the problem? Some history on truck, HPOP fitting was replaced earlier this year. Just replaced about a month ago, head gaskets, heads , EGR valve, EGR cooler, Oil cooler, injectors and put in ARP headstuds. This problem started after all the later stuff was done to the engine? Anyone have any ideas what could be the problem?
hello,,,I just had the same problem I would crank and crank and then let it set for a minute and start up on the first hit of the key and replaced fuel pump and fuel filter and took care of it..but now I have a vibration problem that I am working on..good luck
Im having the same issue recently fin1,did you
by any chance find out what the issue is/was?
I have twin optimas,battery voltage good @ 13.4
The batterys dont go weak, they just keep cranking.
Just in the last week, she cranks hard and strong
but it does takes 6-7 seconds before firing right up.
When it does, its a really quick start,if that makes sence.

1st off, AWESOME for searching and not making a fresh thread! 2nd, is it having this problem only when the engine is cold? hot? all the time? Last time filters were replaced? More info will definately help these guys get to your problem. And year of truck.

Thanks for the reply.Ive been searching for a couple hours
and I think you may be right on the filters. It may be time
again. I do replace them about every 7-10K,Im at 8k now.
Im going to change them this weekend, and see if that helps.
If it does,I will re-post in this thread, just to inform others.
It does do it more when cold, but she fires up,its quick and
and sound mean,as if the compression is really up there.
Other than longer cranking than normal, all runs great.
When shes warmer,it starts like normal, couple cranks and
she fires right up.
06 CC SB - spartan tune in it right now,I also run DJ's.
I dont have the latest re-flash for the injectors either.
In the winter when it was below 20 degrees or so,it would
start easier than it does now,but not without all the racket
until it smooths out after a few minutes.
Thanks for the reply FlyCanadianGuy
