My dad had a tape of Chariots of Fire. I don't have it anymore, my sister might have it. But even if I did have the tape, I don't have a machine to play it on.
The first one I had was a cassette tape of 'chariots. I began collecting them on CD's when they became the "Stuff to Have". I think that tape was long since 'strung' while going down the road after a cheap player trashed it...
I can't decide if "The City" or "Voices" is my favorite. "The City" has some (for Vangelis) driving and powerful tracks, but "Voices" has some wonderful female vocals that intrigue and fascinate me.
Here's one for you. Recorded during his psychedelic phase with Aphrodites Child in the 60's. Give it a listen and then tell me it doesn't sound like it could have been recorded this year.

Yea..I have some cassettes somewhere around here. He was popular back in the early 80's. A few of my Navy buddies hooked me up with that stuff. Haven't followed him lately. It used to be good..especially late at night drunk, and alone, or making sweet love.
I used to build large scale wooden model airplanes, with or without R/C. With that music in the background I could go all night piecing together a wing panel.
U like that...Try to find a radio show called Stars-End. It plays on WXPN (philadelphia time) at 1 AM sunday mornings. U can definetly find it on the web at Listen Live
Check out (my) reply #10, that link will go to a site that you can listen to tracks from a lot of his albums on, but I don't know if you can save it. There's a good discography there.
Did I ever mention FM 89.9 in Memphis?
"Volunteer supported radio", they have amateur jocks but fantastic stuff!!!
I should find that link and add it.
(WEVL - Memphis)
You can setup live streaming audio from their current broadcast, if you want.
I just thought I'd share that so that you could see the variety on it...

WEVL 89.9 is a local Memphis TN radio station that caters to NON-MAINSTREAM listeners. Range of music is very wide, and includes Celtic, Scottish Folk Music, Cajun music, classical and old BLUES, Old (very old in fact) Country Music, NEW AGE, NEW WAVE, and many other off-beat venues.
