I have 4 "raceing slicks" for back tires, so I plan to replace those soon. However, the front wheels are supposedly different rims than the back(but they look the same because of a hub-cap?). Any easy ways to test this? I want to be able one spare tire(one spare rim). Also, I was driving home on a pretty horrid dirt road in 4hi when I began to notice at around 40mph, when ever I accelerated/wasn't coasting I heard a "whisteling" noise comeing from what seemed to be only the drives side. Any ideas if something could be wrong or not?

Also, how can I easily find out what my front diff is as far as locking or not, I know I have manual locking hubs.

as far as the whisling I would not go that fast at least for long periods of time. If you havent done this it the resent past I would pack your barings in the hubs Pull it apart it isn't that difficult to do. If it is a stock dif then it is open.
