Idle Speed?

Idle Speed?
I have a 1998 F150 with a 4.2 litre V-6. Can anyone tell me what the correct idle speed for this truck is.when I am sitting in park my tach reads about 900rpm. It drops to 650 rpm when i put the truck into drive. Is this normal? 900 rpm seems a little high to me. please let me know if I should have it checked out.

I have the same truck only with a standard 5 speed transmission. Don't know if it will be any help to you but it idles at 675-700 and it's been like that since new. As a side note - it's been a great truck - have had ZERO problems with it
