I have been coming to grips with reality and I am thinking I might have to go with a rig that is more appropriate for my life in the city. I can't afford time or money for repairs and breakdowns, so I'm looking for the best daily driver out there.
I don't know how to say this without sounding like a sell-out, but what pickup is the best daily driver? Forget about off-roading, mudding, or anything. Without any off-roading bias at all, I need to know just plain and simple: which truck is the best made, mechanically sound, and the most dependable?
Ford of course. Seriously though, Ford does make a darn good truck. The new F150's are very sweet. They ride good, look good, and feel very soild and well built. I'd buy one in a heartbeat. I know this will get me exiled from the board but I really like the Dakotas as well. My dad has one and it seems very solid and well built, gets decent gas milage, and the RT is just flat out quick (yeah I know the lightning will toast it but it also costs 2x as much). It's a good little truck for the money.
Oh yeah, I am definitely sticking with Ford and the F-series, but I was wondering, within those confines, which are the best? Like for instance, what years of the F-250/350s perform the best in mechanical reliability?
