If it were my door ..I might repair it just to minimize the amount of painting ,you'll be able to stay below the side mouldings

BTW I do it this way all the time .

Painting panels to match when they otherwise don't need paint is iffy ,depending on who does the work ,If they totally de trim the panels or not ,may have a peeling paint issue down the road ...

Especially with a used (different color )door, inside & out ..if it peels on the outside ,later ,,not good ...

I should have time to enter your truck into my estimating system & give you some ideas of what you are up against price wise..

used doors are more sometimes ,due to the fact they have all the parts ,handles ,glass ,regulator ,,ect ...
That was my original thought- pull the body molding off, pull the dent as much as possible and re-paint the door, then replace the body molding. I have an uncle in auto body but he's 8 hours away. I need to take it to one of the local shops tomorrow and see what they say.
Chain was my thought too, but I don't know when or how a chain would have lashed the door without me noticing it.
Tom- I did get his PM, but right now I need a door more than headlights. If I hadn't just spent $100 on the Tempo...

Clean? What is this clean you speak of?
I'll roll it out tonight and try to get some better pics. Any particular angle you are after? There is no damage above the body molding from what I can tell.

Well, that lower section panel can be purchased in the catalogs cheaper than a door or skin. Flange it, weld it, spray it, done! PM me for catalog name. last time I mentioned a company that was'nt an FTE sponser got a slap on the back of the hand.

A good idea as well ..keep the seam low in the front where the moulding doesn't go all the way to the edge ,,& spot weld seam under the mldg ....

Press it out first ,with a porta power duck bill with wooden blocks on it for spacers ...
Only problem with a skin ,is ,you loose factory corrosion protection....

May be able to glue it on also..there's a special bonding material made for that...

Yeah, you pissed off the seven dwarfs. Grumpy came and gave your door a beatdown.

A new panel sounds for that section sounds good, and if you're good with a can of spray paint, you can get a decent match. Good prep work is a MUST.

I am in need of a rear door for my 02 Crew Cab. The cheapest I have found one in the junkyards was $200 for a beater door.

Sorry to hear about your door. B@st@rd cowards.

I have an uncle who is an auto body guy... I'm going to borrow his dent puller-majigger thing (spot welds pins onto the door so you can pop the dent out using the pins like a slide hammer) then work the harder spots out from the inside and see how it goes. I think I can salvage it if I take my time with it. The seams may not line up perfectly but I think I can get it pretty close.
Rick pics to come tomorrow, been out burning today and I'm too tuckered to mess with the truck, aside from the fact that its dark.

I have one of these also ,,But I find that Paintless dent repair tool's & the proper light ,do a much better job..

Push the big dents out from the inside ...

Ask your uncle if he knows a good PDR guy that may be willing to work with you ...

BTW ,,PDR tools are small diameter & specific shapes,& very strong, can be used through the drain holes in the bottom of the door ,,or any small hole that may be there ,,or ,,drill new small holes & plug them with undercoating plugs & sealant ,later ...

I'll have to pull the door panel and see what kind of holes are in there that I can work through. My dad is going to try to borrow some tools from my uncle and bring them with him on their trip over here this weekend. I've been wanting to get SS rocker panels anyways, I think I'll get a good repair done on the door then install some nice SS rockers which will hide any small imperfections that may exist.
