Torqshift torque converter question

Hey-allow...

I was just wondering about the torque converter in these here Super Duties...

Does it lock up every chance it gets, that is in every gear, or does it only lock up in higher gears?

I used to think that in passenger cars, lock-up only occurred in high gear, and I never thought about it much beyond that...

In stock configuration behind a Powerstroke, the Torqshift is designed to lock up in OD and sometimes 4th gear. With custom programming, you can make the tranny lock up in any gear. Stock, mine only locks up in 5th/OD and not in 4th like it should, so I got a program which locks it in whichever gear I please.

The Torqshift is the strongest tranny on the market, but Ford when a little light in their shifting patterns for my likings.

mine will lock up in 4th sometimes, you can actually feel it take off a couple miles per hour faster, then when coasting you can just watch the rpms drop when you are slowing down.
