I'm sure it will be fine. I have a super 40 Flow on my F150 with duals out the back and it sounds good. Mine was done at an exhaust shop, but is nearly the exact same thing. I had a regular 40 series before that sounded good but the super 40 is deeper sounding. I like it better.
If you have a local home town type exhaust shop like I do then THEY are your best bet and probably will be a hair cheaper INSTALLED & ALL WELDED!!!
I had my '94 F150 SuperCab 5.0 done at my local place and I had them run the tailpipes to the sides after the rear wheels to mimik (sp) the original single pipe-I prefer the factory type look.
They installed a Flowmaster muffler (not sure of the series) and did a great job as always price was $225.00 (minus the chrome tips which I don't like)
I agree with Conanski. What I have is only one cat. Its in the front and acts as a Ypipe. If you have both cats it won't be very loud. You could get a Cherry Bomb extreme single in dual out. Thats louder than a Flow but sounds similar. It would sound better with both cats still on the truck. If you want a budget exhaust you could remove the muffler and install a Y pipe and then tailpipes out the back keeping both the stock cats. This sounds ok and gives you some decent sound.
Maybe 1 or 2 mpg. Thats about it. It may not do much at all. My opinion is that if it helps the engine run better then it is an improvement, so everything helps. The exhaust will help the engine breath easier.
