Plowhand that is a really nice bumper might do what you did but add a lil like a grill guard to it. I like that it looks clean! How heavy is that. I try to watch craiglist and need to make my rounds to the junk yards havent done that lately.
Thanks, if anyone even has a bought one I would like to see pics of them also!!!
Thanks, I did not do a grille guard because a buddy of mine has a bumper with a grill guard and it is a PITA to work on his truck with it on there. I never weighed it but it's a two man bumper to install. The pipe is schedule 80 thick wall and the diamond plate is 3/16 inch
Very nice plowhand. That bumper looks very simple but effective. It looks like you could probly stand it to service the old girl.
Thanks, I built it so that I could stand on it to do service. It has come in handy, especially out in the fields when I had to do some repairs on her.
Plowhand how did you find your angles for the pipe?
WAG, Wild A## Guess. I looked at some other bumpers that I like and took some measurements and then used some 1/4 rod and bent it until I liked the shape and then transfferred that to the pipe and cut it and test fitted and trimmed until it was like I wanted it. If you just have to have it I can try and get an angle gauge and get you an angle measurement.
I really like that bumper it looks good and I have herd good things bout that bumper. What did you pay for that bumper? and did the winch come with it lol?
Thanks Cchildress the bumper w/winch mount was $850 installed and I bought the winch off craigslist brand new a few months ago. $800 for the bumper and $50 for the labor costs ($25/hr)
dang plowhand, that looks really good, but i do like the looks of the brush guard with the pipe bumper also. my buddy roy just got a ranch hand full replacement not long ago off craigslist austin for like $150. the bottom bar was bent, but that was an easy fix for us.. i would build one like plowhands, then find a ranch hand bolt on brush gaurd and build that onto the pipe bumper to make a ranch hand style bumper. i have always liked the look of the ranch hand bumpers on the obs trucks.
