tylus,
oh ya, I did watch out for that one!! thanks bro!
You know what it was... it was that factory style nut that had the plastic lock ring on top... it got some little pieces in it...
GOT IT OUT no problem after some elbow grease!

GREAT GREAT GREAT NEWS:
I just finished it up!!!!

I got a HELLBENT STEEL 2.5 total inch lift in the front!
Man, that does really jack it up compared to stock!

NOW, if anyone runs into ANY type of problem at all... just email, PM or contact me.
I would be MORE than happy to try to help.

I just about ran into every problem known to man, with this kit!
And it sucked that I did it with hand tools, limited space, and basic floor jack!

BUT IT IS DONE!
...and PHOTOS TO COME!!!!

About the Passenger side install...

I actually had trouble getting the spring to compress because...
When I put the jack under the lower control arm, it actually teeter-tottered over the driver side (the whole truck did).

I got this little idea, that I would put the driver side tire back on (so the driver side wouldn't go downwards).

Wouldn't you know, the L.C. arm came up enought to get the upper ball joint nut started!

***Word of advice though, at full drop of the passenger side spring, it does actually hit the spring itself.***
That is a fact with the HBS leveling kit.

Sooooo, now for some alignment and new tires, and also a headlight adjustment... and I will be able to get a photo of it.

PS. also not sure though, but rough check with tape measure it seems as if it is totally even lift on front and back.
If a little high in the front, can anyone please direct me towards a back lift kit?????

Rock on!

AutoSpring 3" Rear Block

AutoSpring 1 1/2" Rear Add a Leaf

I suggest the 3" block. You unbolt the 8 axle nuts, let the axle drop down some, remove the 2" OEM block and replace with the 3" AS block. Install new Grade 8 u-bolts and your done

The Add a leaf is slightly more difficult, and will make the ride somewhat stiffer...but it will also allow you to carry more weight.

I personally have the 3" block. I was wanting the 1 1/2" AAL, but the shipping to Hawaii would have been $80...vs the 3" block it was a no brainer in my case.

I'm just waiting for a free moment on a weekend so I can do the install. My wife hasn't let me be free for the 1-2 hours it would take

2" block OEM
3" AS Block will replace it

so only 1" of rear height added. My truck sits dead level when the gas tank is empty. a full gas tank and she kinda sits butt heavy. also when a load is in the bed.

the 3" block will give me a very slight rake, and keep it from being butt heavy

Silver05,
question here for you...

With the HBS 2.5 inch lift on the front, did you ever try to haul something heavy (over say 100-500 pounds)?

If you did, does the back end sag at all?

Question is since, I will probably be hauling a quad (600-700 lbs) on the back of my 05 FX4. I just don't want to be blinding the on-coming traffic with my headlights, with a load in the back.

PS. does the 1 inch total lift blocks in the rear effect the driveshaft angle at all???? (has anyone expericened vibrations?)

PPS. I am getting 275/70R/18 Hancook Dynopro RF10/ATm tires on soon!

These tires are a total of 33.1 inches diameter I was told.
Is that a good tire to use? A good size and tread to use?
