NOTE: Because of the shape of the Hell Bent Steel spacer
the strut will be rotated 180° when reinstalled.
did that happen to when u installed it?
Oh ya, I am stickler for instructions when it comes to cars and trucks...
I read that little note, and specifically put a ring of tape around one of the spring loops on the front side, before I remove the spring/strut assembly.
When I installed it again (with the lift on) it was reversed 180 degrees.
I'm assuming this is a warning that was on the Hell Bent install instructions?
to OP: are you sure you have the top section fully seated into it's perch. Those 3 bolts aren't equally spaced. they are offset from each other. This means the coil-over can only install 1 way.
I can tell you for sure, that the spring perch is fully seated, I believe.
Since the three bolts are popping out of the top, and I am able to get them all threaded down (hand tight).
It is just that here is my problem, when I try to get the lower control arm jacked up the whole truck goes up.
I then got on the top control arm with a lever (5ft.) and it only goes down so far.
The top control arm then actually goes all the way down and hits the spring!!!! I can't seem to get any threads at ALL on to the upper ball joint.
so if i read this right your have problems with geting the upper control arm bolted on to the spindle right ???
i to had the same issue but i jacked up the lower control arm put a long pry bar in the upper control arm and push it down. its shown in the pics ( it helps to have two poeple for this ) once it get some threads start just start tighting the upper ball joint and if it spin lower the jack a little it helps if are useing a impacted
hope this helps
and if you doing the passager side the spindle does hit the spring but only when the truck is jacked up

Silver,
Yes, I was doing the Passenger side first.
I got actually to the point of that!
I was actually able to get just about one thread or so on to the upper ball joint bolt.
I don't have an impact gun, but (like you said, just lower the jack a bit, to put pressure on it).
So this is where I am at:
I could get a thread or two on the upper ball joint, but the upper control arm is actually like a paper width away from the spring!
There scares me... But if you say it will come out once it is on the ground right?
alignment was not noticeable side to side....actually has no affect on this aspect of the alignment. I drove on mine for well over 1,000 miles.
the only reason I got it aligned was because my tires finally started to show signs of cupping on the outer edges.
got it aligned and rotated. you'll be fine for a little while without the alignment

I'm sorry man, but I'm at a loss here. Wish I could be there to help you out.
i feel bad too that i can't help ...not to brag but my friend and i who is ase mech and me a prevse body tech did in on a shell drive way with a cordless impact and hand tools in 45 min taking are time ..but hes put on so many hes lost count
I actually just dug into the kit installation again, and got just only a little bit further.
I AM AT the point where, I got the upper control arm on and the ball joint attached.
ONLY thing now is, I can't get the steering arm on... since the spindle is actually RIGHT UP against the spring!!!
The spring seems like it wants to buck out right in the middle.
If there is a way to upload photos here, I can take a quick shot of what I got so far.

Silver05,
I actually am at the point where everything is completed on the passenger side... but am stumped since the upper control arm is hitting the spring???
RU sure about this if I put it back together, put the tires back on... it will be ok?
