hi ive had the error code 622 (solenoid circuit 2)since ive had it. so today i try to be productive and work on my truck. i replace the tran filter and grab the solenoid pack out of a e40d i have in the yard. i didnt no that the plug attached to the pack could be pulled thru the tranny. i ended up seperating it at the solder points.and it came out. so i put it in my truck and soldered it in place. i put it back together and add the tranny fluid and everything and i now have error codes 622 and 621. Most importantly is the truck will notdrive normally when in th normal driving gear. it litterally will take me at least a minute to get to 55. if i put it in 2 it drives fine and i can then switch it to D and itll be fin. i have no idea what i did to cause this i was clean and careful with the parts. any ideas will be GREATLY appreciated. my head hurts from being frustrated all day long with this and then just changin the wires and plugs was making me mad.. thanks again i think this one pretty much resembles me the most
Those are both KOEO codes, basically the computer gets no response from them two solenoids from the get go.
You must find out why and correct them before driving the truck, any KOEO issue showing up during that test will cause problems when driven. That is the nature of the KOEO test.
Could be bad solenoid's, I doubt it, more likely the wires and or connections between those solenoids and the computer itself is broken some where.
Pulling the solenoid pack apart at the soldered connections on the circuit board is the reason you are to unplug the connector by hand only, not to pry it off with a screw driver. Or in your case....pry the pack off the bottom of the tranny without disconnecting it from the harness first!
How was your solder job? I look there first, test for continuity through that point and then move on from there if found to be a sound connection. It may have broke loose when you plugged it in once in place?
If that tests good, test each wire from the corresponding pin for both solenoids from the EEC/PCM connector down to the connector at the solenoid pack. If no continuity, find the break or bad connection in the wire.
